Ban Ki-moon, politico e diplomatico sudcoreano, è l’ attuale segretario generale delle Nazioni Unite. Di seguito la lettera M5S sulla responsabilità dell’ONU e degli Stati membri nell’emergenza immigrazione nel nostro Paese Excellency, domenica 19 aprile, nelle acque del Canale di Sicilia, abbiamo assistito all’ennesima strage di migranti; oltre 700 persone si stima avrebbero perso la vita nel tentativo di traversare illegalmente il Mar Mediterraneo e giungere in Italia. Non è la prima volta che si verifica un episodio del genere. In verità, sono oltre 20 anni che il Canale di Sicilia è ostaggio di trafficanti di esseri umani che speculano sulla vita di persone in fuga da guerre e carestie, le stesse guerre e carestie è opportuno ricordarlo che proprio l’Occidente e le Nazioni Unite, in veste delle decisioni assunte dal Consiglio di Sicurezza, hanno contribuito a provocare, dando il via a campagne di bombardamenti indiscriminati nell’esclusivo intento di perseguire gli interessi economici dei Paesi forti del globo. E’ quel che è accaduto anche in Libia nel 2011, quando il 19 marzo alcuni Stati aderenti all’Organizzazione delle Nazioni Unite, su tutti la Francia, autorizzati dalla risoluzione 1973 del Consiglio di sicurezza istituirono una “no fly zone” che in pochi giorni si trasformò in un intervento militare supportato dalla Nato. Morirono migliaia di persone, molte delle quali innocenti. L’Onu e i singoli Stati che parteciparono all’intervento militare, tra cui l’Italia, oggi hanno delle precise responsabilità di fronte la recrudescenza delle violenze in Libia e ai nuovi disordini emersi in Nord Africa e Medio Oriente. Oggi non potete tirarvi indietro e spendere parole di circostanza. Non potete credere che una telefonata, come quella effettuata tra Lei e il premier italiano sia la soluzione ai problemi che avete originato Segretario. Dagli attacchi dell’11 settembre la vostra guerra al terrorismo è costata circa 4.400 miliardi di dollari; con una tale cifra avreste potuto sfamare tre quarti della popolazione mondiale, invece li avete investiti in armi e sangue, ottenendo un risultato pessimo per la democrazia globale e la pace nel mondo (negli ultimi 10 anni sono nate oltre 30 nuove organizzazioni terroristiche), ma certamente un successo per il futuro delle vostre industrie militari. Nessuno di voi è immune di fronte al genocidio in atto nel Mediterraneo. Non lo è l’Onu, non lo è la Nato, non lo è l’Unione Europea, rea di aver voltato le spalle e di aver stretto un vile accordo con il governo italiano per l’implementazione di una missione fantoccio come Triton, le cui precarie risorse sono già costate migliaia di vite umane. Ma soprattutto non lo è il governo italiano: abbiamo un presidente del Consiglio che in queste ore va scandendo slogan come al suo solito sulla necessità di revisionare il regolamento di Dublino III e permettere che tutti gli Stati membri dell’Ue possano farsi carico dell’accoglienza dei migranti. Si tratta di misure contenute in una mozione firmata M5S e già approvata dall’aula dalla Camera, ma mai messe in atto dal governo, che ha atteso l’ennesima strage di vite umane per dare il via alle sue performance elettorali e mediatiche. Questa è la verità, Segretario, ed occorre che anche Lei ne prenda consapevolezza invece di esprimere facili apprezzamenti. Le sue parole evidenziano infatti una profonda distanza dell’organizzazione che rappresenta verso il dramma che si sta consumando nel Canale di Sicilia e rischiano di isolare ancor di più i cittadini italiani, già in balia di una classe politica sorda e incapace, in grado solo di saper lucrare sulla vita dei migranti che ogni giorno sbarcano sulle nostre coste. Ban Ki-moon Excellency, last Sunday we witnessed another appaling massacre in the Sicily Channel. An estimated number of over 700 people have died while attempting to illegally reach the Italian shores. This is not the first time that such a tragedy has occured. The Sicily Channel has been the theatre of human trafficking for over 20 years. Traffickers take advantage of people escaping from war and famine, the same wars and famine that the UN and Western Countries have contributed to start, due to the decisions made by the Security Council. Indiscriminate bombings aimed at solely defend the interests of Strong Countries have been sparked by those decisions. This is what happened in Lybia in 2011, when member countries of the UN, especially France, established a “no fly zone” on March 19th, authorized by the 1973 Security Council resolution. This measure soon turned into military intervention supported by NATO. Thousands died, and many innocents among them. The UN and the Countries that took part in this military intervention, and Italy was among them, should nowadays take responsibility for the worsening of violence in Lybia and the new disorders we are witnessing in Northern Africa and the Middle East. You cannot hold back now and simply use set phrases. You cannot believe that a simple phone call – like the one to the Italian Prime Minister – is enough to solve the problems that you all have contributed to create. Since the attacks on September 11th, your war on terror has costed 4,400 billion dollars; with such an amount of money three quarters of the world population could have been fed, but you invested that money in blood and weapons instead, with a terrible effect on global democracy and peace worldwide (in the past 10 years over 30 new terrorist organizations have been born), but certainly a positive effect on Western military industry. Both the UN, the NATO and the European Union should be held responsible for the genocide taking place in the Mediterranean Sea. The European Union should be blamed for turning away from Italy and for drawing up an agreement with the Italian Government in order to implement Triton, a poorly endowed program that has already costed thousand of lives. And the Italian Government especially should be held responsible: our Prime Minister has been using slogans as usual, talking about the need for reconsidering the Dublin III Regulation and the need for member Countries to be in charge of taking the migrants. These are measures contained in a motion by the Five-Star-Movement that the Chamber of Deputies has already approved, but never accomplished by the Italian Government that has preferred to wait for the umpteenth disaster before embarking on its usual media perfomance. This is the truth, Secretary, that we ask you to acknowledge instead of expressing appreciation for the Italian Prime Minister. Your words prove that the Organization that you represent is not taking enough responsibility for the disaster taking place in the Mediterranean Sea and these words might isolate Italian Citizens even more. Italian Citizens already live at the mercy of incompetent politicians, who only exploit migrants in their tragic attempt of reaching Italy every day. We urge you to take responsibility for the causes of these disasters involving thousands of migrants; to fight against human traffickers on rubber dinghies; and to put pressure on the European Union in order for all the Member Countries to be in charge for the migrants, as we proposed in our motion.
